I appreciate that you and others like you think they are doing the Lord's bidding. My sister is very much anti-SSM and I know it actually (believe it or not) comes from a well intended part of her.
The problem is that religion is far too subjective to go by. Your interpretation of the Bible and what it's all about, are far different than mine, mine is far different probably than even my friend who I spoke of earlier. We are three people who consider ourselves to be christians who all see the world through different views and yet each of us have been influenced by our religion. It's all up to interpretation and essentially we belong to the same religion. Now take into consideration everyone else who has their own faith whether it's a religion or atheism, then look at the agnostics. Surely you can't believe that your interpretation of the Bible should dictate how everyone lives.
So religion doesn't really play a part in this discussion anyway. In fact, I get offended as a christian when people use my religion as a reason to fight against SSM because essentially what they are doing is telling a large portion of the world that they are not welcome, and I don't believe that to be true at all.
So the discussion must move past religion, and thankfully in most places that really matter it already has.
Can someone please explain how removing the gender restriction removes the number restriction, or the blood relation restriction, or the consent restriction, or the age restriction, or the species restriction?
Did removing the race restriction remove any of those?
Because marriage is no longer defined as one man and one woman to protect children born unto the union. Now it's just two people who love each other. If I can't tell two men who love each other they can't marry, I can't tell two brothers or cousins who love each other they can't marry either and if I can't tell people who they can love, I can't tell them how many they can love either.
This always has been all or nothing. Either we can tell people who they can marry or we can't. If we can't, we can't tell anyone who they can marry.
Yes, you got it. The first commandment. I am the Lord thy God, do not have any other God before Me.
He created us and He is our Father. He knows what is best for us and tells us not to follow any false gods but so many do it anyway now a days.
Worship me or else is not a tantrum. It's telling us how we can live a good life or follow others who will lead you to a bad outcome. Sometimes our parents needed to lay the law down but I didn't say they were throwing a tamper tantrum.
We live in a liberal democracy. Everything is legal. In fact that red haired Labrador Retriever is looking good these days...I always had a weakness for natural red heads...to bad the dog and I are not of the same sex..being of the opposite sex might be frowned upon. Okay...please Ms moderator don't ban me - I promise to say the right things in the future...Here - People are entitled to to marry who they want and pologamy is bad...bad - bad bad.....did I get it right?

Which is exactly why, on a legal level, marriage should be defined as nothing more than "union between consenting parties".

Well, there are laws against incest. So if you want to marry your sister, or mommy, get a case to the Supreme court, and it will be heard based on its own merits.
It is no more all or nothing than saying legalizing pot will legalize all controlled substances.
Marriage equality means equality for all, not just the admitting of one previously excluded group. It is no different than a shop owner who previously only served Protestants saying he no longer discriminates now that he'll also serve Catholics, but he still refuses to serve Jews, Mormans, or Atheists.

SUPPOSED DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE: One Man & One Woman = harmony
PROPOSED "RE-DEFINITION" OF MARRIAGE: Two Consenting Adults = anarchy with goats, brothers, & children all getting married.
It's such a weak argument that does nothing more than prove that those who make it have no logical leg to stand on and no real life reasoning behind opposing the issue of SSM.
