There is actually an interesting reverse image between countries that support same-sex marriage and those supporting polygamy. Those that support SSM generally oppose polygamy (1st World). Those that support polygamy, oppose SSM (3rd world).

Why do you think the show about polygamy has been on TV for the last 3 seasons or more? To make it look normal so the public will accept it.

That is how gay marriage was made to look normal. Of course, polygamy is next. Don't be so naive.

No it's not. Polygamy is a regressive institution and thus not one that will be strongly supported by progressive 1st World countries.

Explain to me why Polygamy SHOULDN'T be legal? If 3 people want to get married, why should I care?

Like Reality tv, people are entranced by the sheer train wreck that these "families" experience, and give reasons why it will never be legalized.

I agree with you. But polygamy is not the issue, SSM is.

I for one have come to enjoy the humor in watching people who have no real, logical disagreement to something (like SSM) so they have to make these ****-poor slippery slope arguments. It's a childish effort, when a kid doesn't want to do something they make up silly, nonsensical and totally made up reasons why they shouldn't have to do it. The reality is, and every human being can realize this easilly, is that same sex marriage is not the same as polygamy or beastiality.

Why not? What is so different?

And SSM is not the same as different races marrying but many were duped into believing it to support gay marriage.

It's only logical to think polygamy will be treated the same way in order to be accepted. That will be the next in thing.

One relationship the previous poster has been indoctrinated to respect; and the other relationship the previous poster has been indoctrinated to disrespect. That's what's different.
