The no voters were foolish for not passing this simple measure. When the next massacre occurs - Wayne LaPierre is going to have a hard time splaining it. It's going to appear as though there is blood on the hands of the NRA and ALL who had a hand in rejecting this measure. Pro gun control advocates will double down on their effort for much stricter bans than what was proposed.
Mark my words.
It will come back to bite.
People saw what this garbage did starting in 94 in CA. It meant NOTHING. We don't need to pass laws on maybe, might, could do etc.
how does you having to go thru a background check affect you in any way?
By providing even more personal and private information to a government which has no right to pry into and attempt to control the private citizens lifestyle and actions.
A new Gallup poll finds that only 4% of folks queried think the future of legal firearms "is the most important problem facing the country today." In contrast, 24% thought the economy was the most pressing concern, with unemployment taking the honorable mention spot at 18%.
Sooner then later the inept, political establishment will have to tackle the debt ceiling and budget crisis, and all this wasted time on gun control and immigration is just filler, just killing time until they can exploit their new, created crisis
If all polls say the same thing, and none of them agree with your view, then it is hard to claim all polls are wrong. The problem is that you refuse to believe the data.
No, I need to verify the data, I need to see the exact wording of the question....also, where were these polls taken?
Do you think my questions above mean anything? Lets rephrase that....if you went to Newtown CT and took the poll there, and those 1000 people were all from Newtown, do you think that poll represents all America?

Don't tell liberals this. They think Obama's stirring emotional speech will get him elected to a third term. Most never even saw it or care to. Maybe he should have shown that much emotion when talking about the terrorist attack on our fellow citizens? Instead he gets all wound out when he's denied the chance to infringe on our rights more. Some president we have here. Lets see if he politicizes his photo op today and screams about guns in Boston.
I don't think bucking 90 plus percent of the American people is a smart defacto filibuster, but we know from experience how well being that smart has worked for the gop. So, gloat while you can. There will be a time when the gun sense bill won't be written by the NRA and it will be passed.
Get off the koolaid Bob.
90%? Provide your proof, other than democratic claims, of that statistic. Your lies are getting tiresome.
Actually I expect the next move to be your dear leader to try another illegal executive order proclaiming a new (and not voted on) law.
After all, this defeat hurt his little feelings, he did not get what he wanted.
