it's a double standard because the right wing govts. of the West hate the idea of a socialist with oil who does not play ball.

Why don't they have a go at China?

answer: because China is too big so they need someone else to bully

If China called in all their US bonds, most of the federally owned property and real estate would have to be given to China as payment.

Funny how they accept the govts of all sorts of other countries, say Iraq, Congo, China, Soviet Union, Vietnam.

what a blatant double standard - would they be so confrontational if the conservatives had won there? No of course not.

Yet again, we see the sham of democracy and lies that only pushes its own agenda.

So when will shock and awe2 begin in Caracas?
What kind of rope will the generals and people hang maduro with when he can't pay for Chavez's social programs anymore?

Nylon? Hemp? Oooooh.....maybe barbed wire!

Oh, your shock and awe is coming, just from inside....so don't you worry....you will have an oppressive junta in power within 5 years.

No, we'd just print enough money to pay them off.

They aren't mortgage loans.

Disgusting, the Venezuelan election was as free and fair as any American election. Also, let us free Cuba from draconian sanctions Washington has brutalized that poor nation with.

good post , well said.

I totally agree - and look at the Bush/Kerry election scandal and how about Honduras recently.

it's just double standards, lies, and selective choosing of democracies abroad - ie: the ones that suit the vested interests of the oligarchs.
