When 50 million dead babies have a voice I'll care. Until then it's an emotional appeal like anyother.

Enough already. Just go away and heal yourself, Gabby. Leave the rest of us-- and especially the U.S. Constitution --alone.

More importantly, why don't any of these politicians take this opportunity to discuss the broken mental health care system?
Someone is not playing a perpetual victim when she is indeed a permanent victim of an assassination attempt with a firearm.

She has permanent brain injury, and permanent deficits. It's not an act, it's reality.

Just go away---why should she? She has lost the right to continue in politics because she was injured while serving her country as a representative of the people? She has EVERY right, same as you and I.

When she is first in line to give up her guns, i'll pay her attention. She is in fact the pure definition of someone who is not mentally competent or healthy enough to own a weapon.

Until then? Not a chance.

Why should she have to give up her guns simply because she supports better gun control? You want to take someone's right to protect themselves who actually did face and survive a murder attempt with a gun? When was the last time you were shot in the head?

She is advocating for herself and all other victims of gun violence. That is highly admirable and courageous.

Ahh so you acknowledge the murder is already illegal, so technically we need murder control. How can we stop people from committing murder?

A possibly effective response to her shooter who queried her- "If words have no meaning, how can you have government?" - might have been- "Oh, but words DO have meaning, any meaning you want." "It's a free country!"

By default, that IS what she said to him prior to his pulling the trigger.

Well, we're not going to reduce murder by taking away laws to prevent it. Guns are used in 68 % of homicides. One way to reduce murder is to reduce the availability of guns in the hands of dangerous individuals by universal background checks, the measure that was just voted down in the Senate.
