Funny how Dems are always Ragging on the Repub leadership. The top 10 Democrats after Obama are all a bunch of old washed up brain dead (mostly corrupt) politicians.
Biden, Reid, Pulosi, Feinstein, SJL ..... and these are the leaders of the Democratic party
They have nothing to be proud of in their leaders.
Texas shouldn't receive disaster funds for this explosion. It ripped on other states for requesting aid during Sandy. It rips on taxes constantly, threatening to leave the country if its people are forced to pay more taxes. There is a television commerical and press release every day telling businesses to leave their forum states and come to Texas because of its laissez faire industry regulations. Then, when one of its poorly regulated industries explodes, it comes crawling to the rest of the country for money.
Figures, typical republican pig always looking for more while trying to bad mouth others in need. Maybe Cruz should pay for the relief fund out of pocket, he is loaded with bacon after all.
As with the BP well blowout in the gulf, the Federal government dropped the ball once again, in their forced false sense of security.
It is the federal government that is "suppose to" have the oversight to inspect these bombs often.
The Government once again, didn't do the job they said they had to do, after grabbing tax dollars to do it.
They talk a good false sense of security, to grab your taxes.
Sound familiar?
Sandy was a natural disaster. West Tx, was the government not doing their job, once again.
In a perfect world, the company would be on the hook for this mess. This wasn't a natural disaster. This was the direct result of policies trumpeted by the governor of Texas barely two days before the explosion. Well, we see clearly the benefits of unregulated business, don't we?
A report I read today noted that they were storing way more of this explosive material than was allowed and never reported the amounts.
How many more of these tragedies have to occur before people stop believing that corporations will do good all by themselves.

What did Alaskan fisheries, wildlife land or the Smithsonian have to do with hurricane Sandy?
This has been debunked repeatedly over the last few days here. Texas is as entitled to federal aid as is any other state...
where does it say that Texas is entitled to federal aid for an Industrial accident? Did the federal government pay the inhabitants of the gulf coast after British Petroleums Deepwater Horizon well hishap? Was the Federal government the sole source of aid to the residents in Prince W. Sound Alaska after the Exxon Valdez disaster?
To quote republicans...The President "didnt build that" mess.
Cruz...instead of calling for answers, he pledges your money to cover the cost of a private businesses hishap.

You know damn well these industries are regulated.
What we are seeing is what happens when the regulators are spread too thin.
Look around you if you don't believe me. Lax regulation enforcement/oversight in almost every industry in the US. There's not enough people and you end up with turning a blind eye and letting things go and not bothering to follow up.
We're too big to manage and perform the oversight and regulations that our laws call for.
And what's the solution in all cases ? Why call for more regulations.

We should send aid to the people in the town and then send the bill to the company, and if the company cannot pay for that bill, then all the CEOs and heads of the company should sit in prison for not paying their debts to the American people.

Is the company somehow exempt from lawsuits?
Was this company unregulated or violating regulations? It can't be both.
Did the company not have the foresight to purchase insurance?
Are these departments state run or federally run?
