Because the majority of potheads/people living in the bay area are democrats. Any statistician would tell you that the chance of the majority of those participants being liberal would be near 100%.

Political affiliation doesn't matter. It's all the matter of responsibility. I don't mind 420 events, but the people who attended should at least have the courtesy to pick up behind themselves. With freedom cones responsibility. This is unfortunate that the taxpayers will likely have to flip the bill.
Yeah, there could be a good number of libertarians among that group. Along with plenty of apolitical stoners, paranoid conspiracy theorists, and Green Party or non-mainstream political party supporters...

OK, so how do you know they actually voted? Voter turnout in 2012 was, what, about 60%? That leaves about 40% of registered voters who didn't even bother to go to the polls. I'm sure there are many stoners in that category.
