In Tennessee a resolution that includes bible verses to designate August 31, 2013, as “ido4life Traditional Marriage Day” to honor the state consitutional amendment it passed in 2006.

A RESOLUTION designating August 31, 2013, as “ido4life Traditional Marriage Day” in Tennessee.

WHEREAS, from time to time, the members of this General Assembly designate certain days of the year to commemorate certain individuals, groups, organizations, ideas, and ideals; and
WHEREAS, in Genesis 2:24, matrimony is delineated; it is expressed only between a man and a wife; and
WHEREAS, the benefits of individuals engaged in said matrimony, known as traditional marriage, can be experienced in their physical, emotional, and financial well-being, and the children of traditional marriage also benefit in the same; and
WHEREAS, according to the Institute for American Values, Heritage.org, and Robert Rector, the benefits of individuals engaged in traditional marriage versus single individuals are as follows: married men are healthier and earn more than their single counterparts; married women have lower rates of depression and are more financially secure; and the children of
traditional marriage have fewer emotional issues and experience a drop in the risk of poverty by eighty-two percent; and
WHEREAS, this body wishes to celebrate traditional marriage within the State of Tennessee; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED EI
GHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby designate August 31, 2013

Traditional Marrige Day. Well, in TN there is a high percentage of people who believe 'common law' marriage is actually legal.

It is also a state in which many have multiple children in their teen years. Hypocrisy and political legislation, hand in hand in the American south.

I honestly think most lawmakers have no clue what rural living is like, or the sad quality of life some Appalacians live in.

Yet, King David in the bible had hundreds or thousands of wives and thousands of concubines.

That's not even far off, in Tennessee it's legal to marry one's cousin...as long as they are of opposite genders of course
