His argument is all that Obama and supporters have left to say.

Hats off to Mark Mardell for stepping up and showing integrity. I'm sure that this will result in him being a better reporter. American media could certainly learn something from him.

Reviews have proven that the inaction and fumbling on the part of the state and local governments actually impeded federal relief supplies. Nagin repeatedly ignored recommendations from the National Hurricane Center to issue mandatory evacuation orders. This delay led to the people being trapped in the Super Dome. Though there were plans for evacuation those with no means to do so themselves, they were never put into action. Explain to me how Mississippi, which experienced just as much devastation as Louisiana was able to recover without the problems experienced in Louisiana? Sure Bush/FEMA, etc. could have done better, but it is nothing short of willful ignorance to lay the sole blame for the aftermath of Katrina at his feet.
I'm sorry...Ray Negin can't order rescue helicopters and military personnel to an emergency and Blanco asked for help....that's all she could do.

All the Bush library said the president did was send troops to restore order after looting and riots....1500 dead and you folks are hung up on four in Benghazi.

I think they are looking at anticipated questions and just how to handle the 100s of emails that hashed out the talking points. Various entities obviously putting their political protection 2 cents in. To come out and openly say that politics influenced the releasable talking points, although understandable if one thinks about it, but red meat for those looking to exploit the practical realities of Govt.

Hicks in his testimony also referred to it as a Consulate.

Some of the people concentrating on the coverup after the attacks, tend to refer to the stuff that came before as "mistakes".

But my point is, that what went on before, was no "mistake".

Security at the consulate was carefully and deliberately reduced, despite well-known warnings from the Libyans govt and the consulate personnel themselves, that more security was needed. And not just briefly - the reductions went on for months, as the election drew closer and closer.

The coverup afterward, merely showed that even after the consultate was attacked and Americans killed, the administration's concern was STILL to maintain the lie they had been spreading beforehand.

And the people who masterminded the attacks and killed our diplomats, STILL have not been found. After EIGHT MONTHS.

How hard is the Obama administration trying, even now?
