Just in case the OP (and anyone else) doesn't realize it, the 22nd amendment to the Constitution (ratified in 1951) establishes the term limits for the President. It's worked just fine since then.

I'm not big on term limits for other offices, but I think the President and Governors are exceptions because of the amount of power they hold in executive office.

Wall St. loved Clinton, but I don't think that's a good thing.

The Republican's pushed for the 22nd Ammendment because Franklin Roosevelt ignored the prescident set by George Washington and ran for a 3rd and 4th term in 1940 and 1944. They regreted it in 1960 when Eisenhower couldn't run for a 3rd term and they couldn't run Ronny until he died.

He is running in 2016 whether you like it or not and there is nothing you can do about it

IMO term limits are anti-democratic, if you don't want someone in office you vote them out.

I think they are aware, but the left just loves to destroy our Constitution. They cannot foresee how this will be a bad thing but they should be extremely careful what they wish for.

Now they could adjust the rules, maybe he has to win by a larger percentage to stay in office after 2 terms.

The country loved FDR, I cannot imagine taking their right to have their president away from them with some stupid rule.

Imagine if Bill Clinton was still president? This would be a better country today by a long shot.
Clinton lost standing with his sex scandal. Also, let's not forget that the first recession Bush faced in 2001 (and partial cause of the 03 recession) started under Clinton.

As for FDR, he did things that made sense. Name one policy that in ACTION makes sense under Obama. Healthcare, you have to pay for it still (or get taxed for not having it) while you can be passed through when you couldn't get it before due to pre-existing conditions. Jobs, Obama has done jack about creating jobs.

I think in a typical case (FDR was NOT a typical case) a president can get their agenda done in two terms. Let's remember excluding Hoover Kennedy, Johnson (voted in once) Ford and Bush Sr., all presidents since Hoover held the office for two terms (including FDR into his fourth term) by being voted into office twice.

George Washington did not seek a third term so we would not live under a long reign like we did as a colony under the British crown. I wonder why congress doesn't look to change and goto term limits while we are at it.
