Is it distasteful and offensive? Yes. Is the truth also sometimes distasteful and offensive? Indeed it is.
If you have lived in Texas long enough (I have) and you are honest with yourself you know damned well this is a result of lax regulation and our lassiez faire attitude towards such issues. And, quite predictably, there's Perry crying like a widdle baby as usual.
Its both but very disrespectful. Imagine if the cartoon had Boston or 9/11 there would be outrage in America. That cartoonist maybe exercising free speech but definitely being rude to the families and friends who lost firefighters trying to keep water on the plant so the city could have time to evacuate.
Reminds me day after Boston Bombings a Canadian friend posted this comment on his FB wall it's kinda rude but not cruel.
Its typical of the left in the USA. Conservatives are but "targets of opportunity", while the reverse is "hate speech". Priceless.
The town is West Texas, not Waco. If you're going to throw out a diatribe at least get the town name right.

Most people probably think that farmers/ranchers go to the local Home Depot or Lowes garder center and buy fertilizer by the 35# sack. That "industry" is federally regulated.
