Deuteronomy 15:7

Jesus was essentially the most socialist, hard left wing person in the history of the world.
Yep. It was Jesus's words alone (well, those ones quoted in the Bible) that led me to become a socialist. I guess it helped that I relied on his words and not that of church leaders, otherwise, I would apparently be thinking the opposite.

As far as global warming, I'm humble enough to realize that the majority of scientists who study it know more about it than I do.

And I don't really understand how people can think that politics and religion should not mix. I agree that religious people shouldn't legislate their morality, based solely on the Bible and not science, on the masses, but your faith should be reflected in your politics. There is no way to separate the two if you are living your life completely in line with your faith. Pastors shouldn't be exempt from this either.

I have been attending a Calvary Chapel sporadically - but have not yet committed to it as a regular attendee.

Calvary Chapel is all over southern California, and they are a much better Bible based denomination, but I have a hard time leaving my home church.

I was originally baptised as a Cathoilic (as a baby) and baptized at 12 at my current Protestant church - but I question the liberal bent that it has now adopted.

I just want to do the right thing.
Above all follow Jesus and the words of the bible.. pray about it and ask God what he would want for you to do.

Many churches are moving away from their purpose and are going the way of the world.. Jesus commanded us to come out of the world and follow him to enter the kingdom.. Bad doctrine can be in many churches... one can eat the meat, (the true word of God) and spit out the bones, (that which is contrary to the word of God).. If the meat is scarce and the bones are many , than the feeding on the word can be all bones and no meat.. then depart.. One must follow Jesus and his word. If God wants you to stay he will let you know.. if not leave and God will put you in a good church. God Bless.

He started to say that humans are responsible for global warming, when this is still a controversial topic.

He mentioned Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and even conceded that global warming has occurred in periods before fossil fuels, as Gore states in his book.

He said that Gore was mainly concerned with our own civilization - not the Earth - which will regenerate on its own - which makes it rather clear that Gore just wants to sell books and expand control and regulation, which is the wet dream of all liberals.

The pastor even mentioned Earth Day.

I thought that was the final straw, until he gave the benediction and said these words:

"Think globally, and live liberally".

You'd better change immediately! Here are a couple of suggestions of churches for you:

Parents Should 'Punch' Gay-Acting Children, Says Pastor Sean Harris - YouTube (Sean Harris - beat your gay kids)

Fred Phelps - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Fred Phelps - Westboro Church)

Now this is just a guess on my part, but I'll bet good money they think evolution is fake, global warming is fake, and that the earth is only 6,000 years old. Try these churches out for size.

Oh you changed it, nevermind. Was going to say something about Marx and Marxism, but yeah neither what he originally stood for or Socialism are "evil and terrible" things.

They've both been warped beyond recognition by this point.

Wrong.. Jesus did not command the government to do anything.. Jesus commanded individuals who walked with God to feed the poor.. Jesus never commanded this system of things which is corrupt to the core to do anything.. this world is corrupt and Jesus said come out of the world.

Guys: Jesus was not political nor a politician. It's hard to find a non-biased source of religious information; maybe this op-ed is unbiased enough for some to get what I'm saying w/o being "over the top".

They still don't understand how that will affect us but what if it continues down for another 50 or 100 years? 100 years from now most of the North American Continent could be under a mile of ice (which is typical). The cycle is 100,000 years of ice and 10,000 years of warmth. Ice core samples prove that we have had more than 10,000 years in this current warm time.

How could Jesus have been political? He didn't live in a democracy. And in fact, the ended up being a both a religious AND political martyr at the end.. Do you think he'd want people to waste their votes and influence today?
