Geno Smith aint that great of a QB and there weren't a lot of teams that needed QBs this year.
He'll probably do okay in the NFL, but no one expects him to be Tom Brady or anything close. Makes sense he wouldn't go really high.
Hell, he still went second round, will make several million dollars and will probably see a good amount of playing time. Only in America is that considered failure. lols.
Just asking here, where is the love for a white cornerback, running back, receiver, defensive end, etc? These types of threads are BS, in the NFL it does not matter what color you are it's all about winning and money.

Plus this may have been the worst class of QBs in years. Now I know the previous year's class with Luck, Griffin, and R. Wilson was a tough act to follow but still none of this year's pickins was particularily exciting.
Smith did so well for one reason. He had the overall best receiving corps in all of college ball. That is the reason Tavon Austin went #8.
Yes he had big stats but so did David Klinger. Most of Smith's numbers came in the weaker first half of the season. Once teams adapted their defense to his short passes WVU didn't do so well. This was a team expected to perhaps play for the national championship and Smith was expected to be in the Heisman race.
In the end WVU barely went .500 and was beat bad in their bowl game. No quarterback that does that is ever drafted very high.
NY was absolutely the worse place he could have went. Austin is going to be exciting to watch.

I watched the WVA / UT game live and several others on TV and can assure you that Tavon Austin is the primary reason that Gino Smith looked good.
Austin is light years better than Smith.
