Never slow to do the bidding of the NRA, Gov Jan Brewer signed into law a bill passed by AZ's bat-**** legislators, protecting GUNS from destruction at the hands of local authorities:
AZ already had a law on the books prohibiting cities and counties from destroying "seized" weapons. This new wrinkle prohibits them from crushing weapons VOLUNTARILY surrendered by citizens in "buy back" programs. Those weapons must now be resold.
Who new the lives of those harmless, cuddly widddo guns needed protection from those big bad forces of evil, who would crush and destroy them. Ever' gun de-stroyed is a e-rosion of someone's potential freedom to own one, dammit! Amurika!!!
So now, if you are a citizen of AZ, concerned about gun violence, and wishing to make sure YOUR guns are never used in a crime... well, about all you can do is go out onto your porch with a hammer and smashing them to bits yourself (Wait... is THAT still legal) If you turn them in to the cops in exchange for movie tickets or something, they WILL be put back into circulation in YOUR community, regardless what YOUR local community wants, by dictate of Der Stadt!
Hey, I thought the Right was for LESS central government, and MORE local control? Not so much, huh? That only counts when LOCAL control is all you have- let the Right get CENTRAL control again someday, and watch 'em go to town!
Stay classy, AZ... stay classy
Put your tampon back in...no one is going to rush over to your house and hurt your widdle feewings and pop a cap in your assets.....or are they?
nothing wrong with gun bans. so long as you are not selective about who you allow to keep guns. when u do this, u get croatia holocaust. those u disarm, die.

First, it allows criminals to get rid of guns that have been used in a crime, with no charges or investigation. And pays them money to do so.
Second, it gives them an incentive to go out and steal guns from law abiding owners, knowing that they can "fence" them at no risk.
Beyond that....crickets.
If someone has a legally owned gun that they want to get rid of, they can already sell it legally or pawn it legally, without a "gun buyback program". These programs only help criminals.
