You go where the crime is. Simply put blacks commit more crime than whites.
well I say blacks are more likely to get targeted, caught and convicted. stop and frisk is a perfect example of how this could be a possibility. in 435,000 stops the NYPD found as many illegal weapons and drugs on white people as they found making 2.3 MILLION stops on black people.
Appalling. The NYPD made the same amount of seizures stopping only 435,000 white people as they did stopping 2.3 Million black people in the in the same 8 years. Stop and frisk is obviously a way of harassing people of color in NYC.
Yes but an argument can be made that, since the blacks are far more likely to be stopped, they do not carry contraband while the whites assume they are far less likely to be stopped and do carry contraband. So you cannot say the policy is not effective. New York and Chicago are much like each other and the murder rates speak volumes. The NY stop and search is racist and probably illegal but it is highly effective.

I am not a racist but the numbers speak for themselves. If you want to reduce crime, you concentrate on black males between 13 and 30 who make up about 3% of the USA population and account for about 1/2 the crime. The numbers cannot be disputed in that regard. I will not speak as to right or wrong. I am personally not comfortable with it myself. But living in Chicago makes you more open to things you might otherwise find offensive. Again, I am not being racist here but just a bit honest about things.

And I suspect lots of those "white people" live in Howard Beach and not Manhattan. Especially if you are darker skinned like myself.

Looks like the police are cutting a lot of slack and letting blacks go free, while not allowing the same relaxed policy against whites.
Everybody should go free unless they are found to be carrying something dangerous. Marijuana for personal use is not dangerous. Write them a court citation and send them on their way.

the problem with this is it is not just black males of a certain age, it is black men of a SES. they should focus on particular areas, not people. it makes no sense to keep stopping the same black and latino college and high school students over and over again in random places.

so otherwise law abiding white people just slip a gun or a little meth in their pockets because they think they will not be stopped? lol.
