Maybe 50 or so years ago, but recent polls have shown that the majority of Americans are fine with interracial relationships.
Probably because we have become more informed on how stupid racial construction truly is.
Do you have a link for this?
I have a hard time believing 51% of Americans favor interracial relationships. When only 8% are even involved in such a marriage.
''Fine with it" ? Pretty board statement. Your 2nd statement is one only made by someone of mixed raced, dating some of another race or has family with mixed race. Sorry that makes you bias on the issue. Your circle of friends might share your opinion but there is no way 51% of this country favors interracial relationships.
as to the above couple, the kids will probably look like her, black, as she is a dark skin woman. but you never know with genetics. either way, i'm sure when he hooked up with a Sudanese woman he knew he might have kids who look Sudanese.
The kids will look neither like the mother or the father
The parents won't be able to share their experiences growing up in their cultures because they never faced the same issues as a brown individual. The kids will get a mixture of black and white culture but ultimately neither.
IMO, it's just a watering down of cultures. Our differences make us special. Why would everyone want to be the same short, brown asian with dark features?
American media likes to spread the mentality that mixed race is superior. That one isn't enough and adding another is always better (typical mass consumption mindset). This is the mentality of people that are lost and seeking somewhere to belong. American culture as a whole is like the Buffet. You get a little taste of everything but at the end of the day it's just a watered down version of everything else in the World.
This sounds more like being trolled than anything.
OP, if you want to talk with people who are thinking like you, perhaps Stormfront would be a good place to begin.
Sorry but your race card has no value anymore. It's been used one too many times over the years.
Why are Interracial Relationships viewed as social progression and a positive thing in the U.S. and in other Western Nations? In my home country, it's important for people to marry within their ethnic group and definitely within the same race. Although there is no crime for marrying another person of a different race, it's just not thought of as social progression or something noble and great.
Why do people see interracial relationships as a step in the right direction? Is it not a good thing for people to maintain their culture, heritage, customs and language? I watched the below video and I like the couple, but she is Sudanese and he is Australian. They are so different culturally. Their children will not have any traditional Sudanese values and will not look like either of them. Can someone please explain why this is a good thing?
I apologize if some may be offended, this is not intended to offend. I am just trying to understand the Western culture and customs better.
You leap a huge false conclusion when you declare the couple's children will not grow up with any traditional Sudanese values. You cannot speak for either one of the couple and you have no way of knowing what values they, as parents, will teach their children.
Love breaches and overcomes culture. It always has and always will. These people are not rare or unusual; millions of other couples, just as diverse racially and culturally, marry every day of the year. And somehow, the vast majority of their children turn out OK.
Do not believe your opinions are correct. They are not, especially here in America, where everyone takes on aspects of our many and very diverse cultures and races and incorporates them into one that is distinctly American over time.
I know a professional pilot who took a contract flying freight in Africa over 10 years ago. He is white and was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. While there, he met and fell in love with a Nigerian girl whose father is a tribal king, and eventually gained permission from him and his tribe to marry the girl.
They are still married. They live here, go there every year, and their children are exposed to the cultures of both parents. They have had their troubles, as every married couple has, but they have worked it out. That's the way it has always been here.

You are naive.
I've read countless stories on brown families finding it difficult to connect in new neighborhoods because they don't quite fit in with the white or blacks folks.
Americans are heavily race minded. Because there are so many races, it's easier to fit in with your own and judge the rest.
That is very diverse, but Outside of the U.S. things are very different.
You asked about how it is in America. We Americans already know things are very different here than in other parts of the world.
By and large, Americans have no quarrel with other nation's cultural heritages. Every single one of us has vestiges of where our ancestors came from that is incorporated into our family legends and beliefs.
All you have to do is accept that we are not like where you came from. If you find our ways to be unacceptable, you should probably move back home where you already know what the culture is.
If you are only visiting, try to learn to appreciate how we differ from the rest of the world.
Either way, do not expect we will ever become like your homeland. We will not, and most of us are completely indifferent to how your culture views this question.
No offense taken here by your question. This is just a simple answer.

America has been a race based society from day one. There were problems between the Europeans who were coming to North America and the indigenous peoples. When the slaves were brought here from Africa, there were many laws set up based on keeping Blacks subservient. When Bacon's Rebellion happened, this scared elites because what you had were poor, indentured Europeans and African slaves getting together to fight the elites. Race was used as a tool of power, to keep two groups who had some things in common, from fighting those on the top. Africans were made slaves permanently. European indentured servants were given some land and put on slave patrols. Divide and conquer.

It has always been a major factor in making America what it is. What other country would have Bill Gates, Sarah Chang, Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Albert Einstein, Ben Carson, Billy Mills, J Lo, Junior Seau, Meb Keflezhihi, Tyra Banks, Alberto Salazar, Milton Friedman, Walter E. Williams, and Rush Limbaugh? This is one of the factors that has made America the greatest nation in history.

If you aren't white, the USA is definitely one of the best countries to live in the World today.
