What really urks me about this is that there have been no budget cuts at all. It's all a ruse. All they have done is reduce the amount of increase in every line item. There has been not one thing that has been cut, yet Obama is using "sequester" as an excuse (and as a hammer).

Exactly. If we could afford it last year, and we're spending more this year, then clearly there is enough money. So where is it going?
The US has eleven aircraft carrier groups - the next closest nation has ONE.
The US has 58,000 troops in Europe, and about the same in Japan. It has 30,000 troops in South Korea...what are these allies paying for?
The US has some 8-10,000 active nuclear warheads, enough to wipe out the planet many times over....is there a need for the annual billions in maintenance dollars for so many?
The US has dozens, if not hundreds, of active airforce bases - kept open solely to provide local jobs for congressman and senators. Congress continues to order planes that the military does not want or need - like the C130s - simply to satisfy the requirement that a base must have a certain number to qualify as an operating, active base and remain open.
The US military every year spends several billion on parts for planes and tanks no longer even in service - simply because of poorly written contracts that were designed to keep ongoing jobs at manufacturers in certain congressmens' districts.
Now these items are just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others with many, many more incredibly wasteful military expenditures that could cover the airshow flights by a thousand times. And I'm not even going to get into non-military wasteful spending, like why the US still covers about 22% of the UN invoice, and the outrageous wasting of money on benefits for illegal aliens.
For those who claim that our taxes are at a historical low - YOU ARE WRONG, they are at an historical high, they are merely coming from other sources, i.e., cell phone bill, real estate taxes, car user fees, local sales taxes, etc. There is no way I can justify paying for these air shows to line the pockets of local vendors - who are not paying for them - out of my already way too high tax dollars. Apple has a $100 billion cash hoard, let them cover it.
You logic is we can't make cuts to anything unless we cut everything...
No wonder this country is in trouble...American's have lost the ability of critical thinking.
Just why is that an unfair comparison? The argument is that the airshows only benefit the localities where they are held, and therefore that they should pay for them. That's fair. Equally fair is to do the same with mass transit, which only benefits a few, localized areas. Same with National Parks and monuments. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on welfare and Medicaid.
