A Kentucky toddler was accidentally shot dead by her own brother as he played with a gun he'd been given as a gift, police said.
Caroline Starks, 2, was killed after her 5-year-old sibling fired the .22-caliber rifle at their Burkesville home at 1 p.m.
She was rushed to Cumberland County Hospital but pronounced dead.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the weapon — a Crickett branded by makers Keystone Sporting Arms as "My First Rifle" — was given to the boy last year.
Really dig those rifle colors. We actually live in a society that restricts toy guns from looking too real but allows real guns that look like toys!Gee, what could possibly go wrong allowing preschool children to have their own guns? They should hand them out as they come down the birth canal. It's so ridiculous that anyone could allow this that you'd have to be doing Wayne LaPierre to condone this.
It was an accident, one that could have been prevented. It still was an accident.
The thread exists already.
Yeah, real mature, hand them out at the birth canal.
Please show where you've started another thread showing individuals who were saved because they used a gun, or arent you nearly as concerned about their safety?
More liberal crap, you are talking about things you know nothing about. No one has ever said that giving guns to children unsupervised is responsible. Teaching children about guns with adult supervision will actually make them more safe. Kids that are not taught to not touch guns when and adult is not there, and to get an adult if there is a found weapon and not to touch it ect. These parents obviously fell down and are the ones who set up the problem.
So you liberals will say we need to teach kids about sex so they don't make a mistake but when its guns, we just need to not tell kids about them and how to handle them? Don't be so damn stupid.
Take a look at the recent background check vote. The GOP thinks gang bangers and the mentally ill should have no questions asked access to guns. Toddlers are nothing compared to that.
I sure if Obama presented legislation to keep guns out of the hands of kids in diapers, the right wing idiots would throw a tantrum about how it's infringing on their rights, and the ability for their kid to "protect themselves"
You could have saved time and just said "no, I don't have anything to back up what I'm claiming" or, shorter; "no"
If those parents had handed the 5-year-old the keys to a car instead of giving him a gun, and he had run over his 2-year-old-sister with it, would you now be demanding that all cars be banned?
I didn't think so.
The horrifying tragedy aside, here we have yet another leftist fanatic using dead children solely to forward a political agenda that has no basis in reality.
Do you people even realize how sick you must be, to do this? Stop earning your name.
BTW - minors are subjects of their parents / guardians and have NO RIGHTS.
They only have the privileges granted to them.
Likewise, the right of the PEOPLE to bear arms has no applicability to subjects.
