That's exactly my point. For too many decades, mergers and acquisitions were allowed to continue unfettered, the anti-trust laws weren't being enforced. That's how you get corporations that are "too big to fail". One of the few things I agreed with the Obama administration on was when they actually stopped the merger between AT&T and T-Mobile. I worked for 8 years in telecom and knew that deal stinked. In Europe, where there is much more competition in the cell phone market, they pay only 1/10th of the price for the exact same services features, and data plans that we have here. I will note, however, that part of the price difference is due to the fact that carriers here in the US subsidize iPhone and Android phone while many in Europe have to pay the full price for the device.
