Just on this first page of the P&OC, there are many examples of Republicans trying to turn an argument by bringing up abortion.
Let me go on record by saying that I am pro-life. However, I understand that Roe vs Wade has been on the books for nearly 40 years and probably isn't going to be overturned. Yet Republicans keep harping on about how much Democrats supposedly support abortion. Any time something is brought up they don't like, their answer is "Yeah, but Democrats kill babies."
Why the obsession with abortion? Don't they have other things to be concerned about?

IMO, people who are strong pro life affiliate with the Republican party due to their beliefs. They are pro life first. If for some reason the GOP dropped it's pro life stance, we'd get a third party.
That is one of the internal conflicts in the party. Many establishment Republicans would prefer to not get into social issues.

When that comes out - they have run out of arguments for the threads in question. Really, it is quite tiresome - especially when I see what little regard they have for children already HERE.

It keeps them occupied and ignoring the jobs bills they promised to pass. Just like failing to repeal Obamacare over 30 times.

Repuglican motto: save our gunz and conception. {from beginning of conception in the back seat of a dodge} defund planned parenthood, just use a aspirin between the knees for contraception.

The right to bear arms have been on the books for far longer, and if the left is going to proclaim that we should ban guns to save just one life, then why wouldnt abortion be also up for discussion?

Why are Republicans so obsessed with abortion, even more so lately?
Because the issue is a CA$H COW
