Bruce Lee belonged to another century.

Jet Li and Jackie Chan were heroes mostly in Hong Kong/Chinese movies, not Hollywood movies.
Yes, there are several Hollywood moves in which Jackie Chan is a clown. That's it. He gets no women.

The reason you don't see many Asian actors portrayed in Hollywood is probably because theres less Asian actors to select from....or even GOOD ones...

Probably because they were raised to become all-worldly in things that actually matter...like math and science...

So who is the subject for "the hero"?? The American woman....who doesn't put any stock into math or science whatsoever.

But they love some A-List Hollywood don't they?

In Hong Kong, there are tons of Chinese actors fluent in English.
Hollywood brings in British and Australian actors a lot, why not Hong Kong actors?

Yeah, but I hope Hollywood makes some perfect Asian hero for the female audience to have a crush on.
And then other Asians can benefit from that...

Maybe it's a genetic thing....

Asians, on average, are much shorter than their European and American counterparts.

Again, just another indication of how shallow Americans are and actually women in general....Women objectify men a lot more than society leads us to believe. While men are painted as pigs.

Not that I really care, I'm not going to overlook aesthetics. Maybe it's just the idea of preference that people struggle with.

In other research today, I was looking through a mid-size city newspaper from the 1980's. There was so many "escort" and "date services" being offered in the Personals! Think how prolific the "Cherry Blossom" publications were at that time and before too.

But now that stuff gets shut down quick for what it is...

Many Chinese are tall too, See Yao Ming.
The media just ignores them.

dude Yao Ming was a star...he wasn't ignored as much as he actually SHOULD have been. He played 5 games one season and STILL led the league in All Star voting...sure, because of the Chinese vote but he was still covered.

The dude was a walking injury. He didn't even deserve the hype he got.

I think the issue here is we need to understand better as to why humans are drawn to certain aspects or features. It's kind of dishonest to expect Hollywood or the media to shape public perception and pretend like that is the panacea as to why a certain type of individual is less valued by the multitude
