I am always amused by clumsy liberal attempts to deride Christianity and Christians. Libs must be very uncomfortable about religion, otherwise they really would not care what others think. I certainly do not care what you think. However, liberals are ALWAYS very concerned about what THEY PERCEIVE (which is usually wrong) Christians think.

I would argue that A) the vast majority of founding fathers believed in a single God - so they would think you are absurd for your prompt and B) that the founding fathers were making a point to distinguish themselves from the notion that you have rights because a King or Parliament grants them to you - which was revolutionary. You have a certain amount of rights because God created you and you exist - remembering that the church was a stronger societal and cultural force in the 1700s...especially with the 1st Great Awakening. To go to God would be the only authority recognized above the government at the time.

Do all Christian think the same? No, of course not.

Does it change the fact that some on the right (the religious right, more specifically) are convinced that our rights come from God, despite the how little sense that actually makes. Nope. There are people who think that's true.

And you don't care what other think or believe. Ok. You don't speak for all conservatives do you? Because there are many who do in fact care a lot. There are those who actively fight against evolution and those who clearly want this nation to hold Christina values (and the 2nd amendment, which doesn't seem Christian at all) above all others.

Don't act like liberals care what others think when clearly people on your side care too.

All this time and no one will explain why if our rights are God given, why doesn't he bestow those rights on all citizens of this planet equally?

Why are we so special and deserving of his goodwill moreso than say...people in Senegal.

There have always been people who want to subjugate others, if the people in other countries won't fight for their rights they won't have them. Some people are more comfortable being subjects than citizens.

Why exactly would our rights come from God?

Also, why exactly are you so confident that God even exists?

and who is defining who "God" is.

It is subjective, If you ask the question globally *since other countries besides the US exist, as do other religions).

No religion can profess to be 100% "right or wrong". It isn't a black and white issue. Though some like it to be.

Actually, it has been explained.

The concept that "our creator has endowed us with certain unalienable rights that among them are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is based upon our founding father's beliefs.

You can disagree with them, smart and honest people can disagree on this.

But as was clearly pointed out, the founding fathers were arguing against the notion of the day that a king or a parliament (government) grants you your key rights. If the government can give you these key rights then it can take them away. God creating a natural state of man had given these key rights to man and only God can justly take them away.

In Senegal, if these key rights are being violated, it is through a corrupt government and the people should rebel just as our founding fathers rebelled against a British government that was taking away rights that wasn't their's to take away.

I think the question you are trying to ask, but not doing, is "if God exists, why does he allow evil in the world?"

You're asking the wrong guy to demonstrate anything in relation to god(s) of any flavor. All of them are equally absurd. But it's kinda amusing to ask "what if?" questions on the subject. Just like the OP did, to which I responded.

Feel free to hold forth on the topic yourself if you have anything to contribute.
