Transvestite, lady-boy cabarets are a real hit with the ladies, especially the more fem inclined ones.
But see the real thing, oh no!, that is exploitation!
All about empowerment I guess.
So is there nothing wrong with seeing gay men being exploited?
Another double standard exposed.
I think you're mistaken actually. I go to Burlesque shows often and they're frequented by feminists, hosted by feminists, and performed in by feminists, who consider it empowering and legitimate expression. It's stripping in the strip club context which is considered to be a situation that reinforces negative gender dynamics and is dehumanizing to women in the way that it's practiced. But in contexts like burlesque and cabaret, I've gone to those shows with female gender studies majors.
Perhaps they do, yes, but they seem to be way against female cabaret shows, as if it's some kind of unacceptable exploitation.
So why can men be exploited here, but not women?
You haven't produced anything to back your claim. Sorry, I'm not buying it today.

Yes, my spouse and I both have been to all female, all male and all gay cabarets, no problems. Very entertaining, and funny.
We're open minded and not anal retentive as some people are about entertainment.
