President Obama’s approval rating has ticked up in recent months and continues to hold “a substantial advantage” over Republican leaders in Congress, according to a new Pew Research Center poll released Wednesday. The survey found Obama’s job approval at 51%, which has increased from 47% in March but still lags behind his 55% approval rating a month after his re-election victory in early December.
Obama’s approval rating back over 50%

Three and a half years after leaving office, a survey Thursday shows that former President George W. Bush remains unpopular among a majority of Americans — the only living president with an under 50 percent approval rating.[LEFT]

Obama still has 3-1/2 years to go. I'm sure between now and then his popularity will fluctuate. He could end up running a close tie with Bush when he leaves office, and long after. Premature of you to start counting your chickens before they are hatched.

Congressional percent approval is almost always under 40%. That goes for both parties.

A better comparison is Democratic Approval to GOP approval.

Your example is an apples to oranges comparison.

Obama approval also higher than Dems in Senate.

Obama has more of an emotional connection than any politician to voters in recent memory.

Even when Obama is 100% in the wrong like when he broke his promise to post all bills that pass congress online for 5 days before he signs them into law for public discourse...people still made excuses and blamed Republicans. Here is a promise that Obama can fulfill by himself, he breaks it and people make excuses...the emotions for this man are unreal.

A recent study showed that when emotional people stop thinking logically - to some - nothing will ever be Obama's fault.

What do you expect when the media has sensual tingles running up their legs at the very thought of him?

Warning, the conservatives will be awake soon and will be in full attack mode!

Regarding emotions: Didn't the Ds at the hearing yesterday keep referring to the witnesses as being "emotional"? LOL

Default GOP ratings headed down

Republicans in both Houses of Congress will always have lower approval ratings than both Houses in general, since Republicans represent a cancer in both Houses. President Obama reigns supreme in every category over Republicans, not just over those losers in Congress. As time goes on, the President's approval ratings will continue to rise.

Of course, none of this matters since Republicans are on the run, unable to convince America that they don't favor just the rich.

House Republicans are historically pathetic. McConnell is a repulsive GOP figure in the Senate, a symbol of lousy GOP politics which continue to curse this country. GOP ratings headed down as a result.

Well, if President Obama decides to drop bombs on Syria and Iran, you'll see his popularity plummet, especially among conservatives. Some are already squealing about drone usage overseas.

Congressional approval means very little since its easy to disapprove of congress but when it comes to reelecting the local guy for congress the reelection rate is overwhelming in showing approval for individuals
