I would never do that, but I would do it in front of a jury.

AGW founder and Grand Imperial Kleagle Wizard James Hansen claims we are going to cause a runaway greenhouse effect like Venus, while 500 Million years ago CO2 levels were 20x higher and they were 20x higher for Millions of years and yet there was no runaway greenhouse effect. Any rational juror would see Hansen for the kook that he really is.

Not in front of a jury of actual climate scientists.

Well, perhaps the check from Exxon is worth your humiliation.

What is a "climate scientist"?

I thought most of those involved in these issues were physicists.

Again, the liberal fallacy is that MOST physicists believe that AGW is a real and is a threat to mankind. This is simply false. It would be fairly easy to dispel the AGW myth in a debate with physicists, as it makes no sense whatsoever from a standpoint of physics.

The complaints I have about the incompatibility of physics with AGW is well documented among many physicists and those concepts are not that tough. It is interaction of IR energy with CO2 and basic thermodynamics. These are principles which cannot be refuted through debate or conjecture.

Humans have never breathed air with 414 ppm of CO2 like we are now. That makes it an all-time record for us.

Never before in planetary history has CO2 increased 40% in only 100 years, which is a blink of an eye in geological time. And ALL of that 40% CO2 increase came from our tailpipes and smokestacks.

Are you sure you want to cite the Ordovician-Silurian and Jurassic-Cretaceous periods? Those coincided with the planet's largest extinction events... proving that excess CO2 is poison to life.

If you don't change the water in the goldfish bowl, the fish slowly poisons itself with its own waste. That's exactly what we are doing to ourselves with millions of car exhausts and smokestacks.

So that's an increase of 140 ppm, right?

Man made CO2 is only 5% of total CO2

5% of 140 ppm = 9ppm

So the AGW loons think that 9ppm of CO2 will do all these catastrophic things they imagine? AGW is long on predictions, none of which have happened. The AGW crowd claims the exclusive high ground of "science", can't seem to understand science.
Good grief, and you call yourself a scientist.....That 5% of increased annual CO2 accumulates, so that 140 ppm higher CO2 is the result....My math says the increase in CO2 is 50%, and most if not all of that is man made.

Humans have been breathing air with higher CO2 concentrations for a very long time.

typical indoor CO2 levels in a well ventilated room range from 350 to 1000 ppm.

Wow. Really? Do you lay this kind of math on patients when you do informed consent?

Be ashamed.

If this is the climate 3 million years ago... Seems like nice weather back then.... Same weather as it was 10 years ago ... And 20 years ago.... And 40 years ago....

Things have to get real bad before most people will wake up and demand change. That's just how human's evolved...we react to immediate danger. 400 ppm is just a number....if we don't see an immediate threat to our personal lives at this moment in time, then we will continue our lives as usual....until we have no choice but to react. Unfortunately, it will be too late by then. Something like 99% of the species that have ever inhabited this Earth are extinct. This will most likely be our fate too.

Many denialists point to the years 1998-2012 as though climate change stopped, and the slowing of the rise of the earths average temperature just magically disappeared. This, of course, makes no scientific sense whatsoever, as mankind's continuation of pumping out carbon dioxide did not slow down, and it is not slowing now. We continue to break records every year for the earths warmest average temperature since record keeping began, and this will continue to rise.

We are no longer the frog in the pot of simmering water, all these weather related disasters that result from a warmer climate can no longer be dismissed, and soon the pot will start to boil. Only then it will probably be too late.
