"right now" Duh, the chart goes way far back from "right now". Moron is a good word.

What most sane, non-liberal American have problems with are PUBLIC UNIONS.

Obviously having unionized government workers "negotiating" with politicians for raises and benefits taken from the public's taxes, which then go directly back into said politician's re-election accounts creates titanic opportunity for graft and corruption, and you see the results in places like California.

FDR, who was certainly no Republican, warned against public unions back when we had a saner country.
As one of those conservatives I say BINGO!

Unions donate almost exclusively to Democrats. I think Liberals would have a very different opinion on the necessity and fairness of unions if Liberal union members' dues were funding Republican election campaigns.

50 pages of comments on unions, which are are well-nigh irrelevant to the average American worker. 93% of the private sector workforce is non-union...only 7% unionized and dropping.

Yet 50 pages on something that is history...or rapidly becoming history.

Unions made themselves powerless. Any org that drops from 35% to 6.6% has done that already.

Every sane person should take issues with public unions, why federal government employees or for that matter many state governments need unions at taxpayer expense escapes logic.

It is amazing what the fed employee union gets away with that costs the taxpayers. In addition the taxpayers PAY for their space and utilities.

They also pay their salaries, many union reps do only work on behalf of the unions who in turn negotiate salary increases and added benefits. There are around 50 unions in the federal government, 50 contractss to be adminstered by HR.

I agree. There is a big difference between public and private unions. Private unions provide a service for employers. They give the employer access to a trained workforce. The employer can increase or decrease the number of employees at any time and always know he/she will have a relatively well trained workforce. Employers have a fixed cost for their employees with the union managing benefits.

Public unions may be good for the employees but are terrible for the taxpayer.
