so tell me, when the house sends a bipartisan bill to the senate, and Reid refuses to bring it to the floor for debate, what is he engaging in? The Republican congress does their part, by sending bipartisan bills to the senate, and yet all you do is gnash your teeth over republicans.

The blame lies on the Libyan government for failing to protect sovereign territory within it's boundaries.
Embassies and consulates all over the world are protected by the nations that host them.

Failure to do so means that formal diplomatic ties will be severed, as was the case in Iran 40 years ago.

There will be three stories, the Democrats', the Republicans', and the one we'll never hear, the truthful one.

I find that kind of strange. Benghazi was a CIA base. There were over 30 employees and only 5 were State Dept Employees.

I think it was downplayed because the campaign was in full swing and the Dems didn't want a terrorist attack and their failure to "catch it before it happened" overtake the campaign.

You can't have 100% failsafe prevention.

The author is right about one thing. If there's no Hillary this is totally different. In that case, someone would actually have been held accountable for their deceit.

So now you are trying to shift the discussion to who is to blame for the attack taking place in the first place? Okay, let's go there. How about our embassy and consulate looked weak, in both actions and appearances. We appeared very weak in our responses to the previous attacks by radical groups in Libya.

LIST: 13 Attacks Prior to Consulate Attack in Libya « FactReal

We had zero military presence in Libya, and we outsourced our security to the want-ad pages in the local newspaper.

For Benghazi diplomatic security, U.S. relied on small British firm | Reuters

Our Libyan security forces were an untrained, unqualified, unreliable public joke, and everyone knew it. We ignored multiple urgent requests for increased security, and ignored grave concerns over Stevens' worries of imminent attacks coming from the terrorist elements in Libya

State Department Faulted in Libya Attack - WSJ.com

The Accountability Review Board study, conducted by a board appointed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and led by Adm. Mike Mullen, a retired top Pentagon official, and Thomas Pickering, a longtime U.S. diplomat, faulted a "lack of proactive senior leadership" for security in Benghazi, and said physical security was "profoundly weak."

So who do we blame for Benghazi Libya, for ignoring pleas for more security, for allowing profoundly weak security, while knowing if the mission came under attack that they would be all on their own, and no outside help would come?
