What the heck does it mean to say "I support the President"? I mean with some meaning other than partisan politics. (Does it mean something like "I'm not breaking any laws today"?) The President is supposed to be working for the people, the entire United States of America, not the other way around. This is the problem with Dubya. He actually only works on behalf of a minority of the people. Namely, the rich, those who own and work for oil companies, those who have a stake in the future of the nation of Israel, contractors to the U.S. Military branches, certain factions within the U.S. Military, owners of businesses who emply illegal immigrants, owners and employees of large health insurance companies, owners and employees of private Wall Street institutions, owners and employees of agribusiness concerns, owners and employees of U.S. based multinational corporations. What have I left out?

Has the PC thing gone to far?
You bet it's gone to far, I wish one person had the balls to stand up for their freedom of speech.

You left out the fact that it is not just Dubya working for this, but all the crooked politicians out there and all the other crooked politicians that came before him. But maybe you are one of the sheep that only sees that as being Bush's fault.

You've got that right. That frail woman who got a case of the vapors over an opinion different from hers set feminism back a century or so.

That happens to not only celebrities, but everybody. 40 years ago, people could speak their minds and they wouldn't have caused such a public uproar over it. People are too sensitive today.

I don't believe in "political correctness."

If it walks like a duck, etc.

I call it as it is. Don't want a truthful answer? Don't ask a question.

This was my only thought on the whole thing.... Who gives a crap what Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Jane Fonda, Charlton Heston, The Dixie Chicks, Danny Glover, Jeanne Garafalo, Rosie O'Donnell, etc, etc, etc.. take on politics is???

It would take a real mental midget to say, "Oh dear, Rosie said that fire can't melt steel so 9/11 must be an inside job!!!!" . Or, "Charlton Heston says we can pry his gun 'from his cold dead hands'... What a role-model!!!! Let's go get us an AK-47 and a Glock for Christmas!!!!".

The only thing more frightening to me than these celebrities thinking that we care what their political views are, is that there actually ARE people who care what their views are....

Find out what's important to you and find out who stands for that. Don't vote for or against someone because Ms. "Truth About Cats and Dogs" says this person is a good or bad candidate!!!!

The fact that all those people vote, and that most of those whom you would probably describe as being more worthy of approbation do not.

It's called democracy, and you've got to do more than mouth off about it to benefit.

Hmmmmm.... Would Hillary or Gulliani or Obama or Romney work "for the people"??? Such a simplistic view of a very complex system of government and politics will get you elected to the Sheep Brigade. Perhaps we need to revisit that as-yet-unsuccesful system of "government of the people" called socialism.... In a capitalistic society we ALL are stakeholders to some degree.

Or... do we need to mandate compassion to the nth degree... and who pays for it? And who will be the moral overlords? Maybe those "truth speaking" celebs this thread is about?
