Ok I have always considered myself to be Liberal until recently. For about a year now I have been working at a union facility and the contract has expired. Seeing my entitled coworkers show their ignorance and stupidity has caused me to question a lot of my formal Liberal ideology.

My problem with the GOP is their anti gay rhetoric. It just seams so hypocritical. Is this a common situation?

There are many things about the modern [MOD CUT/flaming] that I don't like. None the less, they are the turd that smells the least, so that's where I place my chips. Unfortunately, this is what we have to choose from when voting. We really need a viable third party because both options suck.

Eh, you could be like me and abandon the idea of supporting a party. Instead, support candidates and look for the ones that match your beliefs. Too often you will have to sacrifice and compromise by supporting (donating to the campaign, helping with voter registration, etc.) a candidate that supports most, but not all of your beliefs. This may include gay rights. If that happens, write to the candidate about your thoughts, and take use another medium to show your support gay rights, possibly by supporting your local gay rights organization.

There is more to politics than congressmen and senators.

Take a look to your local politicians, you are much more likely to find a diamond in the rough in your city than in the cesspool that is congress. Support the career of your local politicians, and one day your efforts will pay off when said politician enters nation politics and influences the United States much more.

Well that sounds good but during the election Everytime I seen Romney I thought about Rick Santourim. He was almost the Republican nominee. I thought if I voted for him I was some how validating his beliefs.

What rights do homosexuals not have (and don't say to get married, because they can, under the same exact circumstances as heteros can).

I would imagine that this is a common problem with young voters but I haven't heard too much about it.

Then be a Republican who supports gay rights.

Simple as that.
