Give them all a suicide pill when the trial is over. Let them decide their own fate. Suicide pill, glass of water, 1/2 hour to decide.

1/2 hour over, give back pill, off to prison, or get a box.

Actually, I think few would kill themselves, most feel no remorse, and some fear death, and what may happen when they die.

I do think some "suicides" occur, a bit too conveniently sometimes...our prison system is not the safest place in the world.

Suicide should NOT be illegal, period!
It is the ONLY "crime" that can be prosecuted if it fails, but can not be prosecuted if it is successful.
It is the ultimate "Freedom Of Choice". If someone feels they have nothing to live for, they should be free to choose to end their life.
"Hunger Strike"? Phooey! Eventually, they will either eat or they will die. It is THEIR choice, allow them to do as they will. Make sure there is food and water available to them, and leave them alone.
They make a rope out of their bedsheet and hang themselves? Oh, well, again, their choice.

Sure they should. That will save us some money to.

Default Should Jail/Prison Inmates Be Given The Freedom To Commit Suicide?

Yes, and provide what ever means necessary
to assist them.
