OJ Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, but I think it was pure retribution that he was given 33 years for trying to get his stuff back. Absolutely insane. It was a violation of his constitutional rights, as cruel and unusual punishment. The Judge Jackie Glass then goes on to have her own TV show, catapulted to fame as being the Judge who "put OJ away." It's not right.

I expect President Obama to pardon OJ as one of the last acts he does in his second term...and I'm OK with this.

He's not going to serve 33 years, he's eligble for parole after 9. Reading some accounts of this he could of actually been sentenced for life....

I wouldn;t get you hopes up about any pardon, I don't even think Obama would touch that with a ten foot pole.

It's not going to happen and most of the would would not be OK with a pardon. Everyone knows he killed Nicole.

And he was not "given 33 years for trying to get his stuff back." Here is what he was convicted of;

  • Count 1: Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
  • Count 2: Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping
  • Count 3: Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
  • Count 4: Burglary while in Possession of a Deadly Weapon
  • Count 5: 1st Degree Kidnapping with Use of a Deadly Weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
  • Count 6: 1st Degree Kidnapping with Use of a Deadly Weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)
  • Count 7: Robbery with Use of a Deadly Weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
  • Count 8: Robbery with Use of a Deadly Weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)
  • Count 9: Assault with a Deadly Weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
  • Count 10: Assault with a Deadly Weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)

OP: Why turn O.J.'s case into a political thing involving Obama? Oh, ya, I forgot the GOP's pledge to bad mouth him for everything on the face of the earth including things that haven't even happened. "The black guy is going to pardon all the other black guys! Don't ever elect a person of color again!" Right?

OJ looks like Obama's son. Or maybe he looks like Obama's father. Something like that.
