We have had several big things rock DC in the past 4 to 5 years. And in nearly every case, people at the top claim to not know what is going on, not just Obama. Does that further prove the notion that Government itself has gotten too big, with too many people having too much power?
If we are to believe so many at the top are clueless and cant keep track of the happenings, then government must be reigned in.
And the idea that there are those who want an even bigger government, with even more power and more insight into our lives, that should scare every American.

Who is calling for bigger government ?
Also, you are equating different levels of management to mean that government is to big, that is untrue. At your job, i doubt your supervisors tell you Manager(or if you are the manager, vice versa) everything that happens, that is what you were hired for, so that there is a chain of command.
And you also have the fact that president Obama has reduced the size of the federal work force.
First we need something like the 1970's Church Committee to ferret out the corruption in the; CIA, DHS, DOD, DOJ, FBI and NSA. It's not just that government is too big but it's also too corrupt.

Depending on the job, there are always meetings between managers and other higher ups. And in many other places, like the Navy, if you have someone who makes a huge mistake, often times the person making the mistake isnt just the one held accountable.
We are led to believe there is no dialogue in this Administration and the higher ups dont know this or that until its on the damn news. BS, for one.
Secondly, what the hell good is it in government to have multiple levels of this or that, when it clearly does no good?
And yes, there are people who want bigger government. We have those who also want to give the government more power. Obamacare will give the government more power and oversight into our lives, for example.
Gov keeps growing and growing, the power keeps growing. Then we have scandals where gov misuses its power and it takes going through hell to try and get the truth, and often times we dont ever get the truth.
“Part of being president is there’s so much beneath you that you can’t know because the government is so vast,” he explained.
Yes, the government is big, it services 300 million people.

We havent been lead to believe that there is no dialogue in the Administration. Be honest, do you really expect the President to know the day to day operation of the IRS ?
Multiple levels, If we were sitting here talking about an IRS level scandal happening in all the Departments of the cabinet then you would have a point, but we are talking about one(DOJ, Eric holder knew, thats why he removed himself from the investigation). This is the case of a few people doing something. They should be fired or what ever is deemed necessary.
I have yet to see anyone advocate for bigger government. Most people honestly dont care about the "size" of government but rather the functionality. If government is to small to function properly then its down size is a mistake, if it is to big to do so, then the same can be said.
Obamacare is not more government oversight and power, why do you say it is ?
You said government is growing and growing, but how ? again the size of the government has been reduced for 5 straight years. If you are arguing about certain regulations, then that is an opinion and we would have to agree to disagree.

Don't forget Republicans. They also want bigger government, with more power and oversight into our lives.
So the question becomes: How do you actually achieve small government? I think it is impossible.
