A lot of you don't have memories of Joe McCarthy. If you even know history, it is filtered by some historian with an agenda. But to me, Dan Issa is definitely the reincarnation of Joe. Too bad his issue is trivial compared to Who Lost China? On the other hand, Chiang Kai-shek was a far less sympathetic character than the diplomats in Benghazi. Clearly after their setback in the last election, the rightwing of the Republican party is frenetic in their attempt to find ANYTHING to smear the Democrats with. Voter suppression and gerrymandering gave them power to abuse, and it seems like they have no qualms about doing it. Again, a repeat of the early 50's in Congress.
"But to me, Dan Issa is definitely the reincarnation of Joe." You are entitled to your biased opinion.
Some drunk waving around a briefcase with news papers and whiskey while yelling he has the names of over 200 known communists is not my idea of someone to try to rewrite into a hero.
He was not a perfect human being but he was doing what he felt was right and he turned out to be right.
McCarthy had one bugaboo though, the reds, and he was probably convinced of the threat. He seemed believable at least. Issa jumps in front of a camera to announce an investigation of every little thing and it comes across for what it is: petty partisan politics.
I suggest you do a little research into the hearings the dems have conducted over the years.
I see the usual leftist fanatics have been losing so many debates recently, that they have descended to namecalling and making comparisons to McCarthy instead of demonstrating why they think their side is right.
But the CONServatives found out in the last election that it couldn't be bought by the Koch Bros. and other powerful lobbying right wing groups. The 47% turned out to vote, and the 53% majority stayed home. Ain't it funny?
The person I really don't feel sorry for is this guy.
When their hopes and dreams are shattered, they'll try the unthinkable, anything and everything.

SSDD.
That's a laugh -- or more like the pan calling the kettle black. The RWNJs here are constantly insulting, undeservingly condescending and are quick to call names.

Don't be sore.
obama's actions are catching up with him.
Is he supposed to turn a blind eye to the blatant abuse of government?
