Blame the victim. Nice.

I blame the parents.
You are only a victim, if you want to be, or taught to be.

You raise your kids with the victim mentality. I will raise my kid, to never be a victim.

They should go to jail to serve as a warning to other kids. Perhaps they'll save a life that way to make up for the one they took. Probation is a slap on the wrist. It will do nothing to stop this from happening again.

I don't believe these kids are sorry for what they did. Had this girl not commited suicide, I have no doubt they'd still be doing it. They're only sorry they got caught. I have no sympathy for them.

No ones blaming the victim for the actions of her tormentors.

However let's be adults here and understand,

she had a choice NOT to commit suicide.

Have you ever been bullied? I'm not sure how I survived. I planned my own death so many times. I think my fear of death was just greater than my fear of the bullies. I went though high school just trying to blend into the walls. Hoping they wouldn't see me. I have never gone back for a reuinion nor will I ever. I want nothing to do with them or the people who looked the other way. They're all worthless human beings, IMO.

You are mistaken if you think you can raise your kids to not be a victim if the bullies target them. The best you can hope is they survive. You, obviously, don't know what it's like to have someone bully you and then watch as your peers join in and refuse to stand up for you because they want to be cool.

They took no life. They pushed buttons, the parents didn't teach their child how to deal with. As this is just the beginning of life and there will be more people just like them to bully them in many ways through life.

Every individual has choices in life. These parents didn't teach that aspect to their kid.
This kid felt there was no other choice.

Wow. I am glad MY parents raised me to have true compassion instead of self interest. I'm out. My humanity will not witness the downward spiral of this thread.

They tormented another human being and made her life a living hell until she took her own life. They even told her to kill herself. To be rejected like this by your peers is a very difficult thing for a fragile teen ego to deal with. They have no regard for people. Only for themselves. We really don't need them in society. In prison they can serve as an example and maybe a life will be saved to make up for the one they took, and yes they took her life as she likely would not have done this if they'd accepted her instead of tormenting her. Kids don't just wake up one day and decide to kill themselves. That is the last act of a person desperate to end the pain. In this case ,the pain was caused by her tormentors.

I think their punishment needs to be enough to cause others who might do this to think twice. People like this don't care what happens to others until something like this happens and it makes them look bad. I've heard nothing here that convinces me any of these kids were sorry about their actions before. Only now that a life has ended and they look bad for their part in that tragedy. I don't believe any of them has had time to change. I can only hope their community service is going around to schools and talking about what they did to other kids who might be contemplating or doing the same thing. But 100 hours of that wouldn't be enough. How many hours is a human life worth?

You have no idea what you are talking about. If it were that simple, there would be no suicides. It isn't. As I said in my other post, I'm not sure how I survived. That had nothing to do with being taught life is a choice by my parents. There is nothing my parents could have done, short of getting me out of that school, to have prevented it. For me, somehow, planning my suicide was enough. Knowing I could end the pain at any time was enough. I don't know why it was enough but it was. I can understand why it might not be for someone else. I kept putting it off until tomorrow and then the day came when I walked out of that school for the last time and never looked back.

I have nothing but compassion for this girl's parents. I'm sure they did all they could at the time. AS parents, we always second guess and wish we could do things over and do them differently but you do the best you can with what you have at the time.

As an Air Force brat, I started school in Germany. They have 1st grade @ 5yo there.
when I came back to the states, they I moved right along, even though I was 1 -1½ year younger than everyone in my class. I was always the smallest kid in class.

In 9th grade I was 4'4" probably 75-80#
Now I'm 5'7" and 130# of ripped ex-Gymnast and Golden Gloves runner-up.
Yes, I was bullied a lot! It would happen when I moved up to 6th grade(before it was added to Jr.high and called middle school), Jr. high and again to high school. It would only happen once. "don't mess with that little dude"

The one thing my dad taught me that kept me out of a lot of fights, was to be able to laugh at myself.
Words never really hurt me.
