The only hope for the Palestinians is to renounce terrorism, the attacks on Israel, and engage in creating a peaceful state co-existing with Israel.
You're being too optimistic. The Israelis will fight to the end as they did in 1948, because they know there is no where to go. Hamas is in all or death mode and have not realized that no country will send troops and will not negotiate with Israel under any circumstances and Fatah wants preconditions (he acts like he won all the wars) to be met before even making a decision to negotiate. The Arabs version of Peace is no Jews. The Palestinians need to finally realize that they have nowhere to go either and finally negotiate with the Israelis or have another full scale war. Even if the UN gives the Palestinians more recognition, who is going to enforce it ? The UN is pulling out of Syria & Lebanon, because they're being shot at.
If a full scale war does breakout and Hezbollah (or Iran) decides to become part of it, there is no doubt in my mind that Israel will do to them what the US did to Japan in WW2.
Haven't you noticed ever since Vittorio Arrigoni, an activist, was killed in 2011 by members of Hamas in Gaza no more activists or protestors have gone to Israel? His death showed the true face of the Palestinians. Even the ISM who he was a member of has moved away from this cause by only verbally standing behind them (their photos end in 2011).
Ah yes, and a german politician claimed the jews had killed him to make the palestinians look bad....despite Hamas officially blaming the radical splinter group.
Then we have to hear how the europeans have a "fairer" view of Israel when they are a pack of closet racists as bad as here in the US...they just don't honestly discuss it because they "don't have a problem".
Over 1000 years of purges and violence against jews, but they like to portray it as just being that crazy guy hitler, just the one bad egg and era....and now europe has supposedly purged themselves in the last 70 years of bias and racism while the US is still "backwards".
The fact is the Palestinians are there and once more they and Israeli Arabs are going to be the majority of the the whole place soon. There is going to be either a 2 state solution or a one state solution with that 1 state having an overall Arab majority. At which point simply by asking for voting rights the Palestinians can turn it into another South Africa.
Not true anymore. There is a shifting demographic taking place. Jewish births are up, Palestinian births are down, still more Jewish immigration in, and Palestinian emigration out.

Jewish birthrates are explained largely by 1 thing, Haredim, and that is not really sustainable. Israel works fine when Haredim are 6-10% of the Jewish population, but if as expected they start pushing 30% and maintain their views on employment they will likely cripple Israel. Furthermore immigration to Israel is slowed way down since the fall of the Soviet Union and while Israeli Arab birthrates have declined Palestinian birthrates are sky high, much, much higher then most birthrates in Israel and more then enough to outpace immigration and there isn't really much Palestinian emigration.

The IP Conflict is a festering boil on American foreign policy:
That's the basis of my interest.
Ideally, they'd handle it in a less ironic manner:
But that will not happen. At this point, Palestine should just surrender all their land and negotiate for the best deal they can get on second class citizenship. I really don't see how they could end up in a better position by doing otherwise.
I have absolutely no sympathy for Palestinians. None at all.
