Yeah, but who are we to tell Gary Busey to wear a helmet? It's not me living with the brain damage because of his stupid choice.

I wear a helmet when I ride, but I don't feel that helmet laws should be mandatory. Of course, I feel the same way about seat belt laws and any other legislation which focuses on eliminating personal choice in favor of safety.

In the last few years, Florida passed laws making not wearing a seat belt a secondary offense and texting while driving a secondary offense, meaning you have to be doing something else. AND wearing a helmet while on a motorcycle was revoked.

The same people that tell folks to get a driver's license, have working headlights, turn signals and brakes.
