Apparently the GOP has done SOMETHING to p*ss off minorities - maybe by assuming they are mostly freeloaders to start.

Hey, I would PREFER to have TWO parties to choose from. Sadly right now, the GOP is being dominated by their extreme right wing - a group I find totally unacceptable to vote for. Be a bit more moderate and you'll get more votes.

I don't vote D or R in national elections so I'm already a minority.

They will still blame Republicans. Democrats have held Congress about 75% of the time over the last 5 decades, and they hold no blame. Ask the OP..

It's NOT 1992 and the GOP today comes off as FAR more xenophobic and anti-minority than it did then.

So you're saying the GOP can change thus debunking predictions 50 years away?

Aside from the fact that you math is wrong - things in the USA went pretty well for most of that time...

... and THEN the GOP started getting control.
The rest is (unfortunate) history.

I've read that even Texas could switch from R to D in the near future for this very reason. You can alienate minority groups only so long. Particularly when their base is increasing and yours isn't.
