Race is not real ? Can you tell that to The Congressional Black Caucus and The NAACP ? They did not get the message yet, because they obviously believe race is real. They make their bread and butter off of racial identity politics.
I should be more specific, race is not real in a scientific sense. Obviously, in American society one built on white supremacist ideology which created and enforced racial categorization onto Africans and everyone else, race is very real.
But the idea of race doesn't start with the NAACP or CBC, you need to educate yourself. Here is a clue, the idea of race was created by Europeans in America to both justify slavery and to create a white racial American identity for Eurorpeans.
The idea that Europeans saw themselves connected by skin color is what allowed the creation of the white racial identity or the group of people we now call white Americans. This is why the idea of race exists.
we have already told you, you just don't get it. there is no "black culture" there is just poverty, poor education, and poor people. unfortunately, those people are disproportionately black. that's it. it's not too difficult to understand, for most people.

Racism is definitely real, without there wouldn't be an NAACP.

Mrs. Obama seems to think otherwise since "so many" aspire to be sports figures or rappers and don't care about school.

oh gawd!!!!! we need a banging our head against a brisk wall icon like storm front. are you familiar with the history of this country? do you know why these things were established? why they still exist?

He asked you to "enlighten" them. Lol...no matter how many times you say it, if doesn't matter. If Black people are not disproportionately worse off, some if these people would be even more miserable then they already are. What would they do with their time?
Have you actually listened to the speech because she never said anything close to "vast majority of them" or the other things you are asserting about the speech.
Semantics, again, why not say black children have to let go of being serial killers. If she would have said that would that have been offensive even though she didn't say vast majority?
Clearly some black children will grow up to be serial killers, why not say hey black children don't be serial killers and you'll do better in school.
The reason is we don't believe the vast majority of black children are going to be serial killers so someone giving a speech to black children in which they said black children don't be serial killers would correctly be deemed offensive because the implication is that black children commonly grow up to be serial killers.
In fact, there are a number of things someone could say like don't be a rapist, or a woman beater, or blah, blah, blah that wouldn't be applied to the vast majority of black children, but if she said those things would be deemed offensive because of the association.
The same applies with the tired lie that black children think getting an education is acting white.

Of course it is real scientifically. The American concept of race may not be wholly scientific though for example the one drop rule application.
Being a doctor is hard. Blacks who do try to enter med school post much lower MCAT scores, on average, than other groups. There just isn't much evidence of a large, untapped reserve of black medical talent out there.
stop it! there are some pretty dumb non black doctors. don't give us this bell curve crap in 2013.

The irony is that she was speaking to Black college students. Personally, I don't have an issue with what she said, but she was probably preaching to the choir and she did not say that what she spoke about is "Black culture", but as usual certain people (who remain silent when people call her a cow or talk about her children) want to take her words out of context in an extremely lame attempt to further their agenda.
