you know.. take away people's free agency to live their lives.. make it illegal for people to sin... like the bible says...
pornagraphy and strip clubs are of the devil.. and even though they don't effect someone else's liberties directly.. its still a sin.. so... lets make it illegal...isn't that what the christians would want?

The issue of strip clubs or nude/topless bars shouldn't even be a ballot question or political debate. It's private business, and the business owners can operate anywhere they see fit. Residents and other business owners in the area have a right to start petitions against the club if they find it to be reducing property values or hurtful to other business. However, I find that most of those NIMBY opposition groups are just out to stir trouble ... and their efforts are often wasted, because as long as there is clientele that will patronize the club, the owner has equal rights in pursuing his business intentions just as much as the other businesses do.

LOL I'm religious but I still believe in freedoms. I'd actually get offended if they did cite the bible as a reason why they should close down. religion and perfection: not synonymous. lol everybody's sh*t stinks

atleast you understand the absurdity of that argument.. so onto a tangible argument.. like what was said earlier.. they wouldn't exist.. if there wasn't a business demand for it... and it does not effect the liberties of anyone who does not agree with it.. so... common sense would say.. live and let live...funny how many fail to understand such principles when it comes to something like.. say.. gay marriage... if you don't like them.. don't get one....

I was at one last night.

I work part time for a driver service and two men from Scotland came to visit and play golf at an exclusive golf club here.

On the way back they wanted to stop and have a few drinks and go to a strip club.
It was quite early and we were the only customers and they had fun.

Spent a FORTUNE in the couple of hours they were there(the girls saw them coming) but had fun.

Our county has zoned it so it is almost impossible to open one in our county, the neighboring county has three and people go there.

I think there should be the exact same zoning as for any other business that serves alcohol.

I talked to a young girl and she was going to college, trying to get a degree so it happens.

Others were there to make good money doing what they do,is it somehow 'better' to work for minimum wage than to make as much as you can?

It's a good thing to have that sort of thing out on the table. Trying to ban it just drives it underground; the women aren't protected, and it still goes on. Banning it's great for organized crime.

It's really pretty silly, all these Puritians running around slavering for some kind of State Pecker Patrol. I never go to such places myself, but it's going to exist - why try to deny it?

It's good if it's confined to some kind of "Red Light" district.

Actually, yes - some do pay for college by working in the clubs

I have 3 young ladies who work for me who also work in an upscale strip club - one recently graduated with a Masters in Engineering - she now has a great job with an engineering firm (she left the club) and has no student loan debt whatsoever

Another recently graduated with a BA in Business and has just started Law School - again she works in the strip club and has paid for all of her tuition and housing - mom and dad are unable to financially help and she did not want the student loan thing

The third? She is going to school - taking a fairly light load. Majoring in socialology - works in this high class club and loves it -
