The single biggest blowout victory in any Presidential election in US History was Richard Nixon's complete trouncing of George McGovern.
So following your logic, the entire Watergate scandal was also just sour grapes on the part of the GOP. Those whiney Dems should have just dropped it and left well enough alone, right?
Romney wasn't the best candidate ever but move the needle just a few points and he wins the 2012 election. There were a lot of states where the victory was a game of inches. We still don't know enough about Benghazi to say how much of an impact the truth would have had on that election. But if the IRS scandal and AP phone record scandal had both come to light before the election -- even with the very limited amount of information we have now -- there is no earthly way that Obama could have won.
If the president has nothing to hide then he and his administration really ought to stop acting like they have something to hide.
