That isn't the fault of the IRS, that is the fault of those that create the tax code. And you are right, the super rich who don't have to do anything but watch their money make money does have a higher standard of love thanks to our tax codes.

Using the IRS to shut down all dissenting voices is way worse than anything Nixon did --- Obama's dirty tricks take the cake.

How did the IRS "shut down all dissenting voices?"

Why are you cheerleading for the IRS? It's just a question.

This is what an idiot sounds like

According to Harry Reid we are not FORCED to pay taxes, which makes us self regulated! Since taxes are "voluntary" we pay taxes willingly. Why do we need the IRS?

Give us a flat or fair tax, make the IRS a footnote in history.

Ahem - the IRS is a collector of taxes enacted by CONGRESS.
If Ron Paul wasn't stooging for the sheeple, he might try to change the tax law instead of grandstanding over heifer dung.

If you think he's an advocate of TRUTH in Government - - -

Try and find one utterance from him that:
(a) we've been under a state of emergency for 80 years,
(b) dollar bills are not dollars,
(c) the public debt can never be repaid,
(d) FICA/ SocSec is 100% voluntary - voluntary servitude, and
(e) the public debt cannot be questioned
References:
a) Senate Report 93-549: War and Emergency Power Statutes
b) Title 12 USC Sec. 411, Coinage Act of 1792
c) 16 trillion computes to 800 billion ounces gold. World supply is only 5.3 billion ounces. Not enough gold for the US to ever repay the debt!
d) No law compels participation nor punishes non participation (See: Title 18, crimes and criminal procedure)
e) see: sec.4, 14th amendment, USCON

Getting rid of the IRS is a fantasy and will never happen. To do otherwise would rely on completely voluntary compliance with the tax code, meaning no one would pay taxes. It might sound good for a second, but if you think about it for a little, you will realize that it is not a good idea (unless you are an anarchist).

How can states manage a much more simple system but the fed can't?
State income taxes really aren't that much simpler than the federal income tax and largely "piggyback" on the federal income tax. A major way there are simpler is that states often tax capital gains the same as ordinary income and often don't allow deductions for mortgage interest and local taxes.

Considering that 96.4% of Washington's budget goes for spending OTHER than "safety net" programs, only the ultra-rich and Big Business would suffer--and everyone in the working class could help the poor far more with charity that DOESN'T lose almost 100% to overhead.

Trade levies and tariffs, as the Founding Fathers specified in the Constitution.

HOW CAN SO MANY AMERICANS MAKE IT TO ADULT AGE WITHOUT HAVING A CLUE OF WHAT MADE THIS NATION DIFFERENT AND SUCCESSFUL?
