I think in Mitt's case, he evaded taxes, got caught and did not want America to see the tax records that contained the amnesty paybacks. At least that is what I surmised and took issue with. You may want to think about why Mitt would not carry Harry's assertions to court? Perhaps in order to do that, would need to prove Reid false and need to expose tax records to prove that? His using legitimate available tax loopholes are only despicable, in that they permeate the Congressional culture.

Is it just as despicable that Obama did the same thing?

Flat tax puts excessive burden on lower incomes which is the last thing we need to do. We should be doing as much as possible to increase their earnings so they too, can contribute more to the Country's growth. The graduated tax is correct, it's just that it is no longer as graduated as it should be.

What evidence do you have that Mitt unlawfully evaded taxes?
Got caught? By whom?

This thread illustrates why the country is permanently broken. Lines are firmly drawn and sides are chosen. We are divided. If a given action is wrong in your mind, then it must be wrong regardless of who commits that action.

We are a nation of hypocrites, justifying our actions because "our side" did it.

Except for me. I am consistent.

They utilized tax code to minimize their tax burden. I did the same thing by writing off my mortgage interest and donations to charity...
So did obama and the other lefties in government.
