My mother thinks Obama is a stain on US politics. Her words not mine. She despise his socilaistic bent. My father sways whichever the wind blows. My sister-in-law goes with whoever she goes out with.

I went to the grocery store and the check out girl [she was quite young] asked me if I was going to watch the spurs game...before I got a yes or no out...she went on to analyze the upcomming series

She was so confused and nonsensical...but she had so much passion for the Spurs, that is simply smiled and said...I hope you're right.

when people in the real world explain the political and world views...i smile and say..." I know what you're saying"

Go Spurs Go

Not a chance. While I'm not opposed to political debates among family members (I enjoy them immensely), I have too much respect for the Veterans, both those in my family and those I don't know, to tarnish the day with heated diatribe. My family runs the gamut from a hipster vegan to a hard-core commie-hating right-winger (that's how he describes himself), and if we all got involved in a political debate there's a good chance the police would be called at some point.

Which is why I specifically avoid topics concerning politics, religion, or sex at any get together. Those topics are always controversial, and that defeats the purpose for getting together. Instead, I prefer to be controversial on-line, where it is physically safer.

Hell no, I'm going to remember the men and women who died while serving in the military.

Thank you. The most important part to remember is that they were all AMERICANS, with lots of different beliefs (as it should be), who fought and died for our country.

Well, maybe. First, I'm going to honor my 92 year old Father by purchasing a flag in his name at the Field of Hero's in my hometown. He was so touched when I did this last year.

I just might argue politics with my family over the week-end. Most of them are moderate Republicans - with one elderly member being more conservative.

The wine will be flowing, tongue's will be loosened, but we will laugh and stick to friendly fire.

No, I like to keep my Memorial Day free of bickering. I leave my political opinions for this forum.
