Regardless of who said it, he is, in fact, both.

But those are to two options he and his defenders present to the country.

1. They defend 0bama claiming he is just disconnected, unobservant, lost in his own little word, blissfully ignorant and inept.
2. But then when he does something they think is news worthy, then they claim he is brilliant.
3. But if he is brilliant, then he knows what he is doing, which makes him deceitful and corrupt.

It is all politics. There is an equal level of obsession on both sides and both sides are often fueled by the same level of emotional ignorance to the issue. I don't think Palin is as brilliant or idiotic as either side believes. In fact, I would say both sides that argue the extremes use emotion over intellect.
