If you believe muskets are what the founding fathers intended, there is no hope for you to ever become a rational, educated adult.

Continue playing with your crayons.

Are you serious or being sarcastic ?

Sorry,I read further and know you were being sarcastic. LOL
The sad and crazy thing is there are many out there that really think like this.

Me, too. "Gun control" means using both hands.

I don't see how any mention of gun control and fanatics scream about repealing the second amendment.
Most gun control fanatics don't scream about repealing the 2nd amendment. They merely demand that we violate it.

They did want these ex-military persons armed to be ready for military purpose. So I also propose that they be sent to the front lines the next time a war is declared (or not).

Oh great, another revisionist who believes the 2nd was written 200 years ago so we should be limited to 1791 arms.

enabling the people to organize a militia system
participating in law enforcement
deterring tyrannical government
repelling invasion
suppressing insurrection
facilitating a natural right of self-defense

Tyranny by the DOJ and IRS qualifies.

A well regulated militia, being the best security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Nothing is said about limiting weapons based on advancing technology. I'm fairly certain the forefathers expected weapons to advance, deciding such common sense logic wouldn't need clarification. Apparently, for some every word is fodder for redefining.

Why would anyone want to get rid of the 2nd Amendment? I think we need to make sure that dangerous people aren't getting guns, and I think we need to stress gun education to anyone looking to get a gun.

Sorry, eRayP, but you were caught by GregW's tendency toward using ridiculousness to make a point. Don't worry, it's happened to all of us at one time or another.
Ain't it the truth!

GregW, That was perfect! My hats off to you, because I was ready for a scathing reply until I saw who wrote it!
