LOS ANGELES — An effort by two conservative billionaires to take over The Los Angeles Times and seven other newspapers is setting off a firestorm of opposition here. Public employee unions, the leaders of the State Legislature and liberal advocacy groups are moving to block the sale, denouncing it as a threat to public workers and Democratic Party issues.

They are reporting that public employee unions, the leaders of the State Legislature and liberal advocacy groups are against the sale. No where does it say any media group is taking part of the protest, or even states any member of any media group is taking part. People are protesting because it's being taken from independent ownership to a group that openly and actively promotes science denial and partisan conservative groups.

If the billionaires succeed in buying that newspaper consumers can simply respond by not buying that newspaper.
