A car on the other hand costs serious coin to learn how to drive, costs serious coin to buy ( thank cash for clunkers for that) and costs a lot of money to insure and operate.
For poor folks like me, the bike is a good and legitimate form of transport.
As long as you take small side s treets., sidewalks etrc., (persome, sometimes on foot walking bike), but stay off of the major Avenues and Blvds, where serious transportation take place. If a child on a tricycle would be out of place, unaccompanied, then bikes are improper on those same thoroughfares.

I am all for commuting by bike, it is much healthier and what employer wouldn't want employees in good shape? I will admit I am a more fair weather biker, but I always enjoyed it, especially after a stressful day at work.

You got any idea how many fossil fuels are used in the making of a bicycle?

If you were "green" you would walk.

I like the way environmentalists rationalize their behavior. lols. It's comical.

Why?
Unless you are on your way to cure cancer or stop a nuclear war, your time is no more important than mine, the bum on the corner or anyone elses.
I pay taxes just like anyone else, more than you, for sure. Why dont you guys build private roads if you dont approve?

I was just goofing. Im a 'live and let live' person, but these bike hating threads are always sort of funny. Dont really require real seriousness. People are either for or against, nothing I/we write will change their minds. Oh well . . .

Or you can build a bike out of bamboo, very durable and requires a minimum number of manufactured parts. And yes, walking is the most green form of transportation, I do that as much as I can.

What in your fanatical world would ask ONLY conservatives?

Did you ASK any "people who hate my kind"

Did you ask any of ""There are people who say" what party they belong to?

"Clearly a few people hate us, though some have legitimate reasons for that, like people not being able to stop at stop signs." Why in the world ANYBODY be NOT be to stop at a stop sign?

There a "a few" people" who believe in every conceivable scenery you can think of.

I repeat, grow up and don't worry about what others, especially a few, think. Period.
This is something liberal progressives do periodically, to maintain the illusion that they and their ideology are superior, so they can go on justifying their intense hatred of Conservatives and Republicans.

Whenever a prog feels a weakness in the farce surrounding them, they create a straw man with the label “Conservative/ Republican” on it. Then they imagine the most hateful and vile deeds and attach these to the straw man. Then they start a thread and completely destroy their imaginary foes, thus pumping up the impressions of themselves, reinforcing their armor of ideological supremacy, and cementing their view that no matter how bad their politicians are, how destructive their failed policies are, they are better than the alternatives presented by the evil, vile, disgusting, Conservatives and Republicans.
