The problem with your argument is that paedophiles and arsonists are NOT born that way.
How do you know this? Are there peer reviewed studies or does it matter? The problem with both of these groups is that the vast majority of those that have been studied are incarcerated. It might be easier to interview free arsonists but I'm not even aware of real treatment programs for pedophiles that an average pre-offender would be comfortable trying.
The Boy Scouts have been pushed into changing who they are and will just fade away. Sure, it will have some people join it, but it is no longer what it was to millions of boys and their fathers over the last 100 years. I have nothing against gay people but I don't agree with their lifestyle and think this is just another push to normalize gay behavior. So be it. Next will be an attack by the gay community via the state on churches or any other private group that does not embrace the gay lifestyle or endorse it.
Your statement is contradictory. There is no gay lifestyle.
Why would the boy scouts take sexual orientation into consideration for any member and why would any potential boy scout bring it up?
But at the end of the day its up to them how they run it.
The Boy Scouts likely don't want gay leaders for the same reason most parents would not want straight male leaders going on camping trips with their daughters.
There you are...dropping your kid off at the Jamboree and being introduced to his new tent mate, "Pat"....Pat was dropped off by "Elizabeth and Carol".....Pat brought along a chest full of Barbie Dolls and a vinyl, with clear plastic lid, makeup kit.....Pat also wears shorts....really short shorts with his n' her "tonsils" hanging out....Pat wears longer than usual hair and has a certain "feminine" air about him/her....
It's late, they are both going to sleep.....you kid wakes up, shaves his legs, and he is a she.....taking a walk on the wild side....WTF!!!!!

Call me old fashioned here but, I would think you might have to deal with something like this at least 5-10 years later.....Nothing like having to change your kids entire wardrobe just prior to the next school year. Suddenly, posters of Barney Frank, Melissa Etheridge, Gloria Steinem are replacing Buzz Light Year and the like.

It's an interesting psychological question is why folks like you
never consider things like love, commitment, respect and mutual admiration when it comes to same-sex relationships, you just ignore all those things and dash right to the clinical details of who is doing what to who, and how, in their own personal spaces. One would be (justifiably) wondering why you are so obsessed with the nuts and bolts of certain combinations of skin contact you happen to find icky.
