Look at all the scum we let in, and now many want to just give them a pass because they broke the law? Send em back to South America or where ever they are from. When was the last time there were "immigrant" riots here in america? Are immigrants march in protest as is our tradition. March in protest for redress of grivences.

Our problem is illegal immigration not legal immigration. Illegal immigrants have no right to march in our streets and prostest our immigration laws. As for riots if they don't get what they want this time around with the proposed amnesty it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they started rioting in our streets.

I am more of a libertarian, if you want to sit on your couch and smoke pot all day and shoot crack, knock your self out. If you want to wear burlap cloths, ride a bike to work and spend 20 dollars for a head of organic lettuce its your life. We are fortunate that the majority our immigrants (latino) are pretty much the same as the rest of us. They are Christian and have a European-based language, culture and heritage. Assimilation is easy comparatively. Here in the southwest we have even adopted some elements of their language, food, and even their holidays into our culture. But if we deny them opportunity in education and job placement we will be looking at the same problems in the US as Sweden is having. The thing is, we Americans know how to deal with immigration. We need to ignore the voices of the bigots on the right and get on with it. Now.
Are you speaking of Latino immigrants that are here legally or illegally? Our government knows how to deal with immigration? If so, then we wouldn't have millions of them here illegally. I am all for diversity in our immigration numbers. Unfortunately, we have gotten away from that an favor Latinos instead. That is not condusive to assimilation. Bigots? Please describe these bigots. Seems to me the Konservative businessmen that hire illegal immigrants for the tough jobs and support unlimited H1b immigration are the folks forcing this invasion on the rest of us. Most of the Liberals I talk to want to enforce hiring only legal immigrants in the chicken factories and not allowing H1b immigration until all the technically qualified US college graduates are working. Our goal is not assuring selected business profits but the best for as many as possible of our own citizens first.

I consider myself a liberal, but I've witnessed the rapid demographic change of Raleigh, NC and it's disturbing to me. I'm used to seeing a lot of people of Mexican origin in California and I expect that in Texas or Arizona. But to watch the whole character of a south eastern city like Raleigh change in a few short years is upsetting. I don't blame to people who came there, though, I blame the business owners who bypassed the local population so they could have modern day slaves. don't get mad now because these people are setting up roots in the area and taking over whole neighborhoods with strip malls filled with Spanish signs. you righties are to blame, not us.

It is also the right (the rich right) that is pushing for immigration reform (amnesty) so the cheap labor can stay here and even more can come.
