Every city that I've ever lived in has reduced hours and days. Whereas the library was open EVERY day when I was a kid in the 70s, they are now closed completely on Sundays and even close early or open late on other days compared to closing at 9:00 PM in the 70s. How did libraries get so shafted in City budgets?
Are there any cities that have reversed this trend or is it nationwide? To me, libraries are important and serve a huge education purpose.
Our libraries are all open on Sundays here, but they weren't in the last couple of places I lived. They weren't open in Sundays when I was a kid either though, so I don't know that this is a drastic change.

We have one library here in our little city. Yes, it is open on Sunday. However, it is closed on Friday and Saturday now. It was once opened seven days a week.
Depends on the time of year and the library. Some tend to be closed during the Summer on Sunday's (starting from either this weekend to mid June) through Labor Day weekend. Opened the rest of the year on Sunday's. Others are open year round on Sunday's.
